Lentiira Holiday Village offers unique nature experiences for the active adventurer, hunter of natural wonders and nature explorer. The Petäjäniemi outskirts offer pure nature and dark skies free of light pollution.
When you long for the bounty of nature, head to Lentiira! In addition to comfortable cottage accommodation, we have a smoke sauna, traditional treatments and a sauntainer, all of which are loved by our guests. For a relaxing break, forest hiking, canoeing, hiking and cycling, as well as classic winter hiking are all popular with guests. Fishing traditions are also maintained in the holiday village. Pets are also welcome in our holiday village.
From summer 2024, Elise Heikkinen-Johnstone and Rob Johnstone will run the holiday village. The tourism company cherishes the traditions of Kainuu, adapting them to the needs of the modern traveller. A cosy setting and personalised service have been attracting guests to Lentiira since 1967.
The wolverine, bear and other inhabitants of the wilderness attract visitors to the Kainuu's secrets. At our partners' hideaway and on guided tours you can see and photograph wild animals in their natural habitat. In autumn, you can go on a berry and mushroom hike with a guide and enjoy the benefits of forest sowing! In winter you can follow the animals on skis and snowshoes.
The fishing opportunities in Kuhmo's waters suit all tastes. The ridges and coves of Lake Lentiiranjärvi provide an ideal environment for netting pike, pike perch and perch. A good framework for fly fishing has been built on the flowing Änättikoski rapids, just 4 km from Lentiiran Holiday Village. In addition to local fishing permits, we provide guides, boats and equipment for fishing.
What better way to end a day out than with a gentle soak in a real smoke sauna and a dip in the refreshing lake water! Traditional treatments and pampering are available in the capable hands of a local naturopath. For groups, we organise wellbeing day retreats, birthday parties and bachelor parties. You can also rent a smoke sauna and fireplace for an evening out.
The highlights of the dark season are the Northern Lights on the sky and the night-time Milky Way with its stars. On cloudless evenings, you can gaze into the universe with the large Celestron SC CGX 1100 GoTo telescope and learn its secrets under the guidance of Rob, the house's professional astronomer.
